Villareal v. Valencia: VIL -155, Draw +280, VAL +455

History: Valencia won the previous matchup, a friendly in late August, and have lost 4 out of the last 5 matches against Valencia. However, Villareal has started off the season on the front foot and will look to capitalize on Valencia’s slow start. The big figure this game is the goal differential at -1 for 4th place Villareal and a nice 0 for Valencia, which I think shows the true test of a club, Villareal are known for conceding goals but also scoring in bunches whereas Valencia are a much more consistent side. Expect more of the same from this game with the edge going  to Valencia. Always expect the Unai Emery team to lose.

Players to Watch: Chukwueze, team Leg, is always going to have an impact on the game for Villareal but also keep an eye on the genius Dani Parejo. For Valencia all eyes should be on the two forwards, Maxi Gomez and Goncalo Guedes, who will need to have big games in order for Valencia to push through this one.

YL’s Pick: Over 2.5 goals, Villareal ML

Napoli v. Atalanta: NAP +150, Draw +290, ATA +150

History: The bookies have this one as a toss up and rightly so. You can never bet against the speed and style of play of Napoli in Serie A, but Atalanta has made tremendous strides and will be an absolute force to deal with in Serie A for years to come. The two teams have split the last five matches with one draw mixed in as well. The winner of this game is a complete toss up to most people but I would expect Atalanta to come out with the victory, they play a much better team game and are very sound defensively whereas Napoli is extremely leaky at times.

Players to Watch: Dries Mertens, when he goes Napoli goes, also be on the lookout for Lozano as he seems to be settling in during his second season. Atalanta does not have any big names but they have a solid core of players, none moreso than Luis Muriel, expect him to score a goal this match.

YL’s Pick: Atalanta ML, Over 3 goals

Inter Milan v. AC Milan: INT +130, Draw +250, ACM +195

History: One of the greatest derby matches in all of the European football, the Milan Derby, is sure to be exciting as both teams are undefeated and both teams have seem to have found their way back to their glory years, how long will it last? Not a freaking clue. Inter have been dominant, winning 4 of the last 5 matchups between the two sides. Both clubs undefeated to up until this point it is sure to be a hard fought matchup with no love lost between either side, expect classic, physical Italian football.

Players to Watch: The new man, my personal favorite, Alexs Kolarov, should have an impact in this tilt, as should Hakimi. From a forwards perspective Lukaku and Sanchez need to play like their old selves if they are going to remain unbeaten. For AC, be on the lookout for Calhanoglu, the turkish midfielder has been known to score a worldie or two and he might make the most of any opportunity given to him.

YL’s Pick: AC Milan ML, Zlatan to score

Hoffenheim v. Dortmund: HOF +320, Draw +330, DOR -140

History: Hoffenheim is unbeaten in Dortmund the last six matches played with 3 wins and 3 draws. Hoffenheim seems to have Dortmund’s number over the last couple of seasons and Dortmund have been off to a rough start this season. Dortmund is certainly much more dangerous going forward after three matches with a goal differential of +5 compared to that of Hoffenheim’s +3, and Dortmund certainly has the bigger offensive firepower when it comes to depth of the front four/five. Is this the chance for Dortmund to break the unbeaten streak?

Players to Watch: Gio Reyna, a young American, has been truly influential in Dortmund’s side to start the season. Hopefully he will be able to link up with Haland early and often during this matchup. For Hoffenheim, be on the lookout for the Croatian, Kramaric: Team Leg, he is a consistent player and is a problem to deal with in front of the net.

YL’s Pick: Haland to score, Dortmund ML

Man City v. Arsenal: MCI -230, Draw +390, ARS +550

History: Arsenal beat the Cityzens the last time out in the FA CUP back in July, a 2-0 victory for the Gunners. City, however, have dominated the contest over the last five years and you should expect more the same with Pep’s squad. Arsenal has looked better of late thanks to guidance of Mikel Arteta but I do not think the student will beat the master this time out. I hope I am wrong, but City all the way.

Players to Watch: Raheem Sterling, the pace and ability to finish is truly a problem and with De Bruyne feeding him throughout the game City will have plenty of chances. If Arsenal are to stand a chance they need a big game from their back line, Gabriel in particular, needs to show big. Offensively Arsenal need Aubemeyang to be the guy and rely on the dynamic ability of Pepe and Saka, who should definitely be starting.

YL’s Pick: Arsenal ML

Everton v. Liverpool: EVE +290, Draw +320, LIV -125

History: It is the Merseyside Derby, the previous matchups do not matter to these two sides because they are going to go out and try and kill each other this game. For once, in my lifetime at least, Everton have a side capable of beating Liverpool and I could not be more excited. Liverpool fans should be worried by the dynamic developing between Calvert-Lewin, Rodriguez, and Richarlson; and Ancelotti seems to have the backline playing as a single unit which makes them miles better than Liverpool at this point in the season.

Players to Watch: The front three/four of Everton, they are scoring goals at will at this point and you should expect Calvert-Lewin to have multiple chances to score against Liverpools back four. For Liverpool all eyes need to be on the defense who were absolutely dreadful against Villa before the international break. If they play in the same manner expect a lopsided score in favor of Everton. HAMMER THE OVER.

YL’s Pick: Everton ML, Calvert-Lewin to score
