Bavarians Going Forward

There are many questions surrounding Bayern Munich’s future. The six time defending champs sit in second by 2 points, they are still fighting in the Pokal, and have recently been eliminated from the UCL by Liverpool. After what seemed like a lackluster start to the season the boys in red seem to have turned it around and winning the league and the German cup are both in reach. But what comes next, are fans really wanting another league title or another domestic cup, to me that’s all well and good, but I want to return to European glory. So what does the future hold for the Bavarians and the fans.

Let’s start at the back… With Boetang and Hummels getting up there in age, Süle seems ready to step up and lead the line that sits in front of Neuer. As of today, the Bavarians have confirmed Benjamin Pavard and Lucas Hernandez for the future of the back line. Both men are capable of playing CB, Pavard at RB, Hernandez at LB. They are rumored to being looking at DeLigt’s services as they replace the old guard. This adds depth to the back line that has been desperately needed for the past two seasons. This next take I ask you to bear with me, Joshua Kimmich is the best Right back in the world, but I believe he could be pushed to CDM, with these new signings, and it could benefit the squad as a whole. He has come out and said that he wanted to be moved into the midfield. I’m not saying give the job at RB to Pavard, but if he proves himself to be good enough, move Kimmich to the middle of the park. Javi Martinez and can also play CB, which helps with the depth problem Bayern has had for the last few seasons.

Let’s move to the midfield, as I only see one big that needs to happen. SIGN JAMES. Thomas Müller is an absolute legend and should stay on the squad. Thiago and Goretzka rounding out the attacking in the midfield, with Kimmich or Martinez as the CDM. Also with the return of Tolisso there will be plenty of room for rotation. In my personal opinion this is how the midfield should look starting next season.

Now for what I have received the most questions about, Attackers, forwards and wingers. Robben and Ribery are absolute legends of the game and Bayern Munich Legends, that being said they can no longer be first choice wingers. They are leaving and we have to accept that. So where to go from there, Coman and Gnabry. These two are electric, yes Coman has injury issues but when he’s on the field he can change a game. With the injury problem I mentioned, Davies looks to be a future star. Now, with signing wingers I can only think of one Bayern should be after, and they already are. Callum Hudson-Odoi would be a great addition and add further depth to the wings. One player Bayern shouldn’t sign is Gareth Bale. I am a huge Bale fan, he is one of my favorite players, however Coman already has injury problems, and can you tell me the last time Bayern made it through a season without a 1st choice winger being injured IE. Robben and Ribery. For strikers Bayern definitely needs a second striker, and who better than Timo Werner. Sure he isn’t the hold up player Lewy is, but it would be another style of play opponents would have to prepare for. If Bayern fielded A front three of Werner, Coman, and Gnarby the pace would give any backline in Europe a fit. With CHO and Davies in the bench, the ability to replace pace with pace and just run at defenders would be real.

There you have it, a possible bright future ahead for Bayern Munich. Agree, Disagree, come through and let me know. Please go on twitter and let Glenn know who Bayern should really get so I am not the only one arguing with him @GlennLorance — Love the TFT Staff.
