Zinedine Zidane has stepped down as the Real Madrid manager. After 2 1/2 years at the helm he has established himself as one of the greatest (If not the greatest) coach of all time. Coming into an abysmal side that was run very poorly by Benitez, and taking over half way through the season and taking Madrid on to Champions League glory should have been the first sign.

There will never be a player/manager that will be respected as much as Zidane was respected at Madrid. He stamped his greatness on everything with the badge on his chest. He put everything on the line to be successful as a manager and a player. He was there for our last 5 champions league trophies as a player, assistant, and head coach. To win 9 trophies in under 3 years is a thing to be proud of, but to win the European title 3 years consecutively has never been done, the super cup back to back ( and possibly a three-peat on the way) and even while doing this over his 2 1/2 years…. he spent only 41 million.

You see the rise of Isco, Asensio, Achraf, Nacho, Modric in top form, and so many other young pieces and different cogs into play. This is a man that was a tactical genius and made it look so simple that anyone could do it. With an “aging” side at his disposal he has proven that Madrid is still the best team in Europe for the last 3 years.

This is the same man who won more trophies than he lost matches.

This is the same man who took a team out of the dirt dusted them off and got them into a champions league final.

This is the same man who has helped Madrid make history the last two years.

This is that same man who we are all proud to say was a part of Football history with one of the most historic clubs.

Deschamps…. you better hope you do some damage in this years world cup because ZIZOU IS COMING. Zidane I look forward to seeing what you have planned for the future. #HalaMadrid
