As the Madrista that I am of course I am keeping tabs on all of my players through the quarantine. ESPECIALLY mi Capitan Sergio Ramos. Now all of my players for Madrid have been living in the gym through quarantine, well except Hazard who is once again rocking a dad bod. Either way I see them constantly lifting, running, going through shooting drills, keeper drills, dribbling, etc. To my delight this morning I see Sergio Ramos once again in the gym (guys an animal) and I hear this very familiar sound in the background. Granted its all in Spanish and I don’t speak it fluently, but I know La Decima when I hear it.
My favorite part is when he mentions Luka Modric and pretends like he doesn’t know what is going to come next. It made me almost feel surprised when he snapped the header into the back of the net. Just gets the blood pumping.
I mean this guy is 34 years old been playing for Madrid for 14 years and still gets that sparkle in his eye when he watches this all go down. When you make history for a club like Real Madrid there is always time to appreciate it. Although is was almost a decade ago now that Madrid raised the 10th it feels like yesterday I watched Xabi Alonso jump from the stands in an Armani suit to celebrate with his teammates. With the Bundesliga returning and La Liga making it’s way back this was just one of the nicest things to wake up to.
